Data Acquisition - N.I.N.A. - as FITs. Sub-frame calibration - Pixinsight (WBPP).
Sub-frame registration and integration (Average combine - Winsorized
Sigma Clipping) - PixInsight (WBPP). Mure Denoise - PixInsight. Deconvolution -
BlurxTerminator (via PixInsight). Non-linear
stretching and
gradient removal - PixInsight. Generation of starless nebulosity Ha and
OIII images
for later processing - Star XTerminator. RGB combine, RGB stretching, SpectroPhotometric RGB calibration (SPCC)
- PixInsight. Mosaic By Coordinates and Gradient Merge Mosaic -
PixInsight. Final finishing -
Affinity Photo. Annotation - PixInsight, Aladin (Simbad), and Affinity
Photo. This image is a combination narrow band HOO/Foraxx image with RGB stars. Image
panels processed at
6248x4176 resolution. Final Mosaic Image size is approximately
6000x4855.
North is up in this image. This
is a two panel mosaic image. It shows the Supernova Remnant SNR G160.8+02.6. This
SNR is also known as HBH 9 and Sh2-221 (although this latter reference is
unclear in Simbad and the early catalogs of Sharpless and Lynds). It is a
relatively close distance (compared to other SNR's) of about 1,760 light
years. In the right upper left is the small HII nebula Sh2-219 whose
distance is much further than that of the SNR - estimates range from about
12,700 to 13,700 light years. In the lower right is a complex consisting of LBN
755, Barnard 25, and LDN 1465. There are also a few background galaxies that can be
seen in the full size image (at full zoom). These objects
and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated
image. Horizontal FOV is approximately
3.11 degrees. Full size
image scale is about 1.87 arcsec/pix. Image center is located approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 04h 59m 36s Dec: +46°31'15"
