Lynd's Dark Nebulas in Cygnus

Scope: ES "Levy" Mak-Newt MN152  at f/4.8, Location: Laguna Mountains, CA   11 August 2012  Camera: ST8300M

Exposure: 10 x 8 min  (1x1 bin) exposure with UV/IR block,  8 x 4 min (2x2 bin) RGB exposures.

Processing: Data Collection -  CCDSoft (as FITs).  Calibrated, stacked (Sigma Combine), LRGB channel registration, central gradient removal, and color equalization - Astroart.  Curves, Levels, LRGB combine and finishing  - Photoshop.  This image is a LRGB combine with Luminance layering -   Final Image size is approximately 2400x1800.

North is up in this image. This image field contains dark nebula structures. These are relatively dense clouds of dust that can range all the way to full opacity  - blocking out light from more distant stars behind them. These dark structures are listed in Lynd's Dark Nebula catalog. In this field are LDN1020, LDN1030, LDN1031, LDN1035, LDN1040, LDN1042, LDN1045, LDN1047. Horizontal FOV is about 88'

Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 21h 46m 28s Dec: +47°31'13"
