Scope: FSQ-106N at f/5;  Location: DAA Observatory, Shelter Valley, CA; Dates: 2, 4, 8 May, 5, 6, 12 June 2024;  Camera: ASI2600MM (Astronomik type 2c  Ha, OIII and RGB filters)

Exposure: Exposure:  Ha - 108 x 3.5 min (gain-180 1x1), OIII - 108x 3.5 min (gain-180 1x1), RGB - 32 x 1.5 min (gain-101 1x1) each RGB exposures.

Processing: Data Collection -  N.I.N.A. Sequencer (as FITs).  Sub-frame calibration - Pixinsight (WBPP). Sub-frame  registration and integration (Average combine -  Linear clipping) - PixInsight (WBPP).  2x Drizzle of Emission Line stacks - PixInsight (WBPP).  Noise reduction - NoiseXTerminator - PixInsight. Non-linear stretching, normalization and gradient removal - PixInsight. Photometric RGB calibration (SPCC) - PixInsight. Deconvolution of Lum, Emission Line, and RGB combine - BlurXTerminator. Generation of starless nebulosity Emission line and combined RGB images for later processing - Star XTerminator.  Curves, Levels, RGB combine - PixInsight.  RGB starless and Emission Line starless  combine - PixInsight.  RGB stars screened to RGB starless + Emission Line starless - Pixinsight.  Final finishing, crop, and resample  - Affinity Photo.   Annotation - PixInsight, Aladin (Simbad), and Affinity Photo. This image is an  RGB / HOO starless composition - with RGB stars added. Secondary image with Foraxx palette and RGB stars.  Image processed at 12496x8352 resolution. Final Image size is approximately  7201x4811.

North is left in this image.  This image shows the northwestern portion of the Cygnus Loop (SNR G074.0-08.5). Pickering's Triangle (Fleming's Triangle Wisp) is toward the left;  NGC 6960 (The Witches Broom) is at the top under the bright star. The Cygnus Loop is a bright supernova remnant  that has become a "SNR laboratory"  since it is relatively accessible for scientific study. It is about 1,880 to 3,200 light years distant and about 10,000 to 20,000 years old.  The overall Cygnus Loop has a Northern Shell (SNR G074.3-08.4) and a Southern Shell (SNR G072.9-09.0) - this image also shows  part of the Southern shell on the right. Some scientific studies suggest the the Southern Shell may actually be a second SNR that is interacting with the Northern Shell. On the right side of the image, the nebulous structures become more chaotic indicating possible interaction of the Southern Shell (as a second SNR) with the Northern Shell.

These objects and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated image Horizontal Full FOV is approximately 2.53 degrees. Full size image scale is about 1.26 arcsec/pix.

Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 02h 17m 42s Dec: +62°45'18"
