Scope: C8 f/2.6 Location: Blair Valley, Anza Borrego Desert, CA 12 Mar. 2005 Camera: ToUcam SC3 Exposure: 16 x 40 sec and 16 x 13 sec Luminance Exposure with IR Block filter. 12 x 24 sec RGB Exposures Processing: Images were captured in K3CCDTools 2. Aligned/stacked in Registax 3 and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color channels were scaled and rough color balanced in IRIS. Channels were co-registered in IRIS. The 40 second exposure is the base for the luminanace channel construction. The 13 second IR exposure was used to minimize some star bloating. The Luminance and RGB channels wer resized to 800x600 prior to LLRGB combine. Four iterations of Richardson Lucy de-convolution was applied to the Luminance channel. Luminance and Color FITS were combined in Photoshop with Luminance Layering. Color balancing and final touches in Photoshop. SGBNR (PixInsight LE) was used to smooth background noise on Luminance channel as well as the final result. Final image size is approximately 800 x 600. This image was taken at a dark site and was a guided image. The object is listed as an open cluster with nebulosity. I have displayed it along with my nebula images since this grouping seemed more fitting to the object. Horizontal FOV is 30' Object Center - Equatorial 2000: RA: 07h 52m 26s Dec: -26°26'12"
