M13 in Hercules
Archives

Scope: C8 f/5; Location: Del Mar, CA;  4 Nov. 2004; Camera: ToUcam SC3

Exposure: 20 x 12 sec and 18 x 4 sec Luminance exposures with IR Block Filter,   15 x 12 sec R,G,B

Processing: Images were captured in K3CCDTools. Aligned/stacked in Registax and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color channels were scaled and rough color balanced in Astroart. Channels were co-registered in Astroart. The 12  sec  exposure was used as the base Luminance channel. The shorter Luminance exposure was normal combined with core mask to desaturate  the core in the Luminance channel. Luminance and Color FITS were combined in Photoshop with Luminance Layering. Color balancing and final touches in Photoshop. SGBNR (PixInsight LE) was used to smooth background noise on the luminance channel and the final result. Resized to approximately 800x600.

This image was guided. This is a very late season M13 taken in Western skies just after Dusk. Light pollution worked to limit my exposure so the image does not go deep in star field and the core is a bit blurry and unresolved. However, this image is an improvement over my earlier image that can be seen in the Archives here.  Perhaps another time I will have another attempt at this object. Horizontal FOV is 16'
