Scope:
ST80 f/2.5 Location: Del Mar CA 1/2/2003 Camera: ToUcam
SC3 Exposure:
8 x 150 sec H-Alpha Filter exposures, 28x 4 sec exposures with IR
block filter, 20 x 6 sec RGB exposures Processing:
Captured and stacked in K3CCDTools with HA,IR,R,G,B saved as FITs.
HA and IR exposures were combined in Photoshop for Luminance channel; Some
HA exposure was mixed in with the Red channel. LRGB masters were co- registered in
Astroart. Some Lowpass filtering
was applied followed by un-sharp mask on the Luminance frame. LRGB combine was
done in Photoshop using Luminance Layering . Ears were removed with Loreal; background was smoothed in SGBNR
- minor touch up in
Photoshop. This
image was taken in my front yard in Del Mar there is a fair amount of light
pollution here as was true for the close-ups below. The 10nm bandwith H-Alpha filter was able to pull some
good contrast
out of the sky glow. Horizontal FOV is 80'
