Sagittarius Star Field - M24

Scope: Megrez II  f/4.3,  Location: Laguna Mountains, CA   9 June 2007  Camera: Artemis285

Exposure: 10 x 120 sec  Luminance with IR Block Filter (bin 1x1); 8 x 90 sec RGB (2x2 bin)

Processing: Images were captured Artemis Capture (as FITs). Aligned/stacked in Registax 4 and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color channels were scaled and rough color balanced in Astroart.  Channels were co-registered in Astroart. The 120 sec IR block exposures were used as the main luminance construction with level adjustments and curves to bring out dim stars. Final LRGB combine was done in Photoshop.   Final touches were done in Photoshop.   Final Image size is approximately 1392x1040.

North is up in this image. This star field shows several objects and features of this portion of the constellation of Sagittarius. The small cluster in the upper left of the image is catalogued NGC 6603. There are also dark nebula running at a slanted vertical to the image. Dark Nebula, Bernard 92 and Bernard 93 are in the upper portion of the image .  Horizontal FOV is 95'

Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 18h 15m 23s Dec: -18°42'21"
