Camera: ST8300M (Baader Ha LRGB filters) Exposure:
Exposure: 14 x 8 min
(1x1 bin) exposure with IR/UV Block filter, 11 x 10 min (2x2 bin) exposure
with H-Alpha filter, 8 x 4 min (2x2 bin) RGB exposures. Processing: Data
Collection - Sequence Generator Pro (as FITs). Calibrated, stacked
(Kappa Sigma Combine) - Deep Sky Stacker. LRGB channel registration,
equalization, and gradient removal - Astroart. Curves, Levels, RGB
combine - ImagesPlus. Luminance Layering, final stretch, and finishing -
Photoshop. RGB calibration - eXcalibrator. This image is a RGB combine
with Luminance layering. Color saturation in LAB color. The H-Alpha
filter exposure was screen blended into the IR/UV Blocking filter exposure stack
and used for the
luminance layer. Images processed at 3352 x 2532 resolution. Final Image size is approximately
2000 x 1500. North is to the
right in this image. Sharpless 88 is the large red nebula on the right;
Sharpless 87 is the one on the left. Just above Sharpless 88 are two small
nebulae - one blue , one red - both associated with Sharpless 88. The blue nebula is
Sharpless 88b2, the red is known
as Sharpless 88b1. There are several dark nebulae in this field - some identified
and some not. Of the ones cataloged by Dobashi, the 5 larger ones are notes in
the annotation. These objects are identified in the annotated
image. Horizontal FOV is 85' Image
