Scope: Explore Scientific MN152  Maksutov Newtonian at f/4.8, Location: Laguna Mountains, CA,   23 August 2014  Camera: ST8300M

Exposure: Exposure: 16 x 8 min  (2x2 bin) exposure with H-Alpha, 6 x 9 min (1x1 bin) exposure with IR/Block, 8 x 4.5 min (2x2 bin) RGB exposures.

Processing: Data Collection -  CCDSoft (as FITs).  Calibrated, stacked (Sigma Kappa Combine) in Deep Sky Stacker, L - RGB channel registration, equalization, central gradient removal - Astroart.  Color calibration with eXcalibrator. Curves, Levels, and Luminance development, RGB combine - Images Plus.   Finishing  - Photoshop. All processing was done on 2x2bin data after up-sampling to 1x1 bin equivalent (3352x2532). This image uses  Luminance and H-Alpha data for a luminosity layer.  Development was an LRGB combine with Luminance layering; Luminance channel created as described.  Saturation in LAB color.   Final Image size is approximately 3352x2532 resized to 2600x1950.

North is up in this image.  NGC 6914 is the blue reflection nebula central in the image and is surrounded by red emission nebulosity. NGC 6914 is also known as LBN 274 and  as vdB 132, vdB 131 and as CED 176). The red emission nebulosity is parsed into the most sections in the DWB catalog; there are 11 DWB objects in this field  (DWB 89, 92, 98, 101, 105, 106, 110, 113, 114, 115, 116). There are Dark nebulae (LDN 897, 899, 900) The annotated image identifies these nebulae.  This image replaces an earlier image in the archives here. Horizontal FOV is 88'

Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 20h 23m 53s Dec: +42°32'41"
