Collection - Sequence Generator Pro (as FITs). Subframe calibration
- Pixinsight. Subframe integration (Average combine - Winsorized Sigma
Clipping) - PixInsight. MureDenoise on each LRGB integration - PixInsight.
Non-linear stretching and normalization - PixInsight.
Curves, Levels, RGB combine, Luminance
layering - PixInsight. Luminance construction was a weighted average of L,
R, G, B integrated stacks. Final finishing - Photoshop. RGB calibration
- eXcalibrator. Annotation - PixInsight, Aladin (Simbad and NED), and PhotoShop. This image is a RGB combine with
Luminance layering. Images processed at resolution 3354x2529. Final
Image size is approximately 3000x2250. North is up in this image. This
image shows the NGC 5430 galaxy group (lower left) and the NGC 5389 / NGC 5379
galaxy pair (upper right). There are numerous background galaxies in this field
as well. In this image, the NGC 5430 galaxy group shows mostly as the dominant,
NGC 5430 galaxy - there are four other smaller galaxies that are not well
resolved in this image. One, Mrk 799A, has its core as resolvable. The
full size image has an image scale of approximately 1.76 arcsec/pix. some of the spiral
galaxies' structures are apparent at this scale. The NGC 5389/5379 pair is
about 87 to 90 million light years distant. These objects
and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated
image. Horizontal FOV is approximately 88 arc minutes. Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 13 57 50 Dec: +59 31 27
