NGC 4536 and NGC 4527 in Virgo

Scope: C8 203 mm   at f/6.3, Location: Laguna Mountains, CA  6  April 2013  Camera: ST8300M

Exposure: 15 x 7 min  (2x2 bin) exposure with UV/IR block, 8 x 3.5 min (3x3 bin) RGB exposures.

Processing: Data Collection -  CCDSoft (as FITs).  Calibrated, stacked (Sigma Combine), LRGB channel registration, central gradient removal, and color equalization - Astroart. Color Calibration was done with eXcalibrator.  Curves, Levels, LRGB combine and finishing  - Photoshop.  This image is a LRGB combine with Luminance layering -   Final Image size is approximately 2000x1500.

North is to the left in this image.  The galaxy on the right is NGC 4536. The galaxy on the left is NGC 4527. Between the two is a smaller edge-on galaxy - NGC 4533. This field is in the constellation of Virgo.  NGC 4536 is about 50 million light years distant from Earth; NGC 4527 is about 46 million light years distant from Earth, and NGC 4533 is a more distant 103 million light years..  Horizontal FOV is 44'.

Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 12h 34m 19s Dec: +02°23'34"
