NGC 1232 in Eridanus

Scope: C8 f/5; Location: Blair Valley, Anza Borrego Desert, CA;  5  Feb. 2005; Camera: ToUcam SC3

Exposure: 15 x 120 sec and 16 x 30 sec Luminance exposures with IR Block Filter; 12 x 40 sec RGB

Processing: Images were captured in K3CCDTools 2. Aligned/stacked in Registax 3 and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color channels were scaled and rough color balanced in IRIS. Channels were co-registered in IRIS.   Luminance and Color FITS were combined in Photoshop with Luminance Layering. Color balancing and final touches in Photoshop. SGBNR  (PixInsight LE) was used to smooth background noise on the luminance channel and the final result. Richardson-Lucy deconvolution was applied to the final result (4 iterations). Resized to approximately 720x540.

This image was a guided image. North is up in this image. This image was taken under relatively poor seeing. The Richardson-Lucy deconvolution was an attempt to improve sharpness from the soft image caused by the seeing. The result showed some improvement so I am showing the deconvolved image . Horizontal FOV is about 16'.
