Processing: Images were captured with Artemis Capture (as FITs). Aligned/stacked and dark subtracted in Astroart with Sigma Combine. IR / UV Blocking filter and Color channels were scaled and color balanced in Astroart. Channels were co-registered in Astroart. Central gradient removal was performed in Astroart. Luminance channel consisted of the IR/UV blocking filter exposures. Curves and Levels applied in Photoshop to the Luminance channel to optimize star depth. Final LRGB combine was done in Photoshop. Final Image size is approximately 1500 x 1121. North is up in this image. The image was guided for all exposures. M37 is the richest of the three Southern Auriga open clusters (M36, M37, M38) - its star population is about 500 stars with about 150 greater than Magnitude 12.5. M37 is of moderate age as open clusters go - it is estimated about 300 million years; its distance is estimated at 4,400 light years. An earlier image of M37 can be seen in the Archives here. Horizontal FOV is 66'. Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 05h 52m 24s Dec: +32°33'00"
