Scope: C8 f/2.8 Location: Dos Picos Park, Ramona, CA 9 Apr. 2005 Camera: ToUcam SC3 Exposure: 18 x 48 sec and 18 x 16 sec Luminance Exposure with IR Block filter and Orion Skyglo Filter. 12 x 32 sec RGB Exposures Processing: Images were captured in K3CCDTools 2. Aligned/stacked in Registax 3 and saved as FITS. Luminance and Color channels were scaled and rough color balanced in IRIS. Channels were co-registered in IRIS. The 48 second exposure is the base for the luminance channel construction. The 16 second exposure was used to minimize some star bloating. The Luminance and RGB channels were resized to 800x600 prior to LLRGB combine. Luminance and Color FITS were combined in Photoshop with Luminance Layering. Color balancing and final touches in Photoshop (includes bright blue halo and background noise subtraction . SGBNR (PixInsight LE) was used to smooth remaining background noise on Luminance channel as well as the final result. Final image size is approximately 800 x 600. This image was taken at a semi dark site and was a guided image. I ended up using the Orion Skyglo light pollution filter to separate the object from the background glow. The object is cataloged as LBN 1044 (Lynd's Bright Nebula). It is located in the constellation Canis Major - neighbors are Sirius M41, M46, and M47. North is down in this image. Horizontal FOV is 30' Image Center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 07h 09m 45s Dec: -18°30'38"
