Image size is approximately 3800X2572. North is up in this image. This
image shows the IC 1396 star cluster (also known as Collinder 439 and Trumpler
37), associated emission nebulosity Sh2-131 (LBN 455), and the nearby region. Its wide field
coverage includes parts of Sh2-134 and Sh2-132. Open clusters NGC 7235 and
NGC 7261 are in this field as well as vdB 142 and vdB 148. There are numerous
dark nebulae in this field from the LDN and Barnard catalogs. Some Lynds Bright
Nebula objects are here as well. These objects and some of the brighter stars are identified in the
annotated
image. Horizontal FOV is approximately 7.37
degrees. Full size
image scale is about 7.0 arcsec/pix. Image center is approximately - Equatorial 2000: RA: 21h 53m 09s Dec: +57°57'45"
