Scope: Explore Scientific "Levy" Mak-Newt at f/4.8, Location: Laguna Mountains, CA 25 June 2011, Camera: ST8300M
Exposure: 8 x 8 minutes H-Alpha (1x1 bin), 12 X 5 minutes IR/UV Block filter (1 x 1 bin), 8 x 4 minutes RGB Exposures (2x2)
Processing: Images were captured with CCDSoft. Aligned/stacked and dark subtracted and flat fielded in Astroart ; Sigma Combine method was used for stacking subs. All channels were scaled and rough color balanced in Astroart. Channels were co-registered in Astroart. The 8 minute 1x1 bin H-Alpha exposures and 5 minute 1x1 Luminance exposures were combined for the main luminance construction. Level adjustments and curves were used to bring out object features. LRGB combine was done in Photoshop. A light background noise reduction was applied in PixInsight LE (SGBNR). Selective sharpening was performed. Final touches and color balance in Photoshop. Final Image size is approximately 2800 x 2100.
All exposures in this image were guided; North is to the Left in this image. The two reddish , blue tinged orbs on the left are IC 1274 and IC1275 - from left to right.
