Moon - January 2005

Scope: MegRez II  f/6.25 Location: Del Mar CA;  23 Sept 2004;  Camera: Vesta 690

Exposure: 4 msec and 10 msec frames - approximately 150  frames  each with IR filter. Best 90 frames (approx) used. Two frame mosaic.

Processing: AVIs were aligned and stacked in Registax 3. Some wavelet processing was applied. Images were saved in TIFF format. Each mosaic frame (top half and bottom half) combined the 10 msec image with mask to the 4 msec image to sharpen the area at the terminator. Mosaic combine was performed in PhotoShop. Final touch up in Photoshop involved some sharpening and color balance.

As indicated in the processing this image is a mosaic of the top half and the bottom half of the waxing moon. The exposure times were very short due to the f/6.25 speed of the optics. The horizontal FOV is about 25'
